Hi all…I’m back. I’ve been sewing, just not blogging lately. I’ve got several projects that I’ve been working on, so hopefully you’ll get some blog posts a bit more regularly.
I wanted to go ahead and share about the giveaway bag. The winner received it this week, so now I can show everyone else.
The winner chose to get a tote bag and she wanted black and white with maybe a touch of red, so I went to the fabric store and snapped some shots of some fabric choices.
She chose the middle one and I have to say I liked that one the best too. So, I got to work on the bag…
Because of the obvious pattern on the fabric I needed to “fussy cut” to get everything to match up. I made sure to match up the pattern on the bottom of the bag to get a mirror image. I also, boxed the bottom of the bag to give it more depth.
I wanted to add a bit of detail and I thought a box pleat on the side would do that without over complicating the bag.
She simply wanted to have her last name initial embroidered on it. So I did a large “H” in black floss on a cream colored patch.
The bag is fully lined and has a little pocket for storing library card, pens, ID, phone, or whatever she would like.
There it is…my first giveaway bag!
